Members of the Board of Trustees, the Clerk and I were sworn in for a new four year term on May 4, 2021. We are humbled by your generous support and confidence in us and are honored to serve this great Village. We pledge to continue our commitment to the great amount of work ahead. We share the same mission: to spend each day making the Village of Stickney an even greater place to live, work and raise a family. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for all our citizens. Keeping our neighborhoods stable, our businesses strong and our citizens safe will always be our highest priority.
This past year has been challenging for our country and our Village. We have seen too much uncertainty and isolation. As we recover from the effects of this pandemic, let us work together to reignite our sense of community.
Congratulations to all our graduates, Class of 2021! We wish you all great success as you begin your next journey.
It would not be the start of summer without our annual Memorial Day Service honoring All Americans who died while serving in the armed forces. We are pleased that we are almost back to our normal routine with a variety of activities and events. Our summer is off to a great start as we welcome back Music in the Park for the month of June.
We are finalizing the schedule of events for the summer and early fall. Please check our website calendar for dates of events.
As your elected officials, we pledge to put our residents first. We take that pledge as a sacred trust, and we will fulfill that trust to the best of our abilities.
I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe summer.
Mayor Jeff Walik
