A Friendly reminder From the Village of Stickney
With the Excesive Heat this Summer, please remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and  follow the suggested things  by the Cicero dispatch center. 
If you feel a heat related issue coming on, call 911 right away.
You can come to the Stickney Police staion as a cooling center if you need a place.
If you have Elderly neighbors, please check on them in extreme heat.

  • Extreme heat can elevate the priority of certain calls.
    For example, a vehicle lockout that may normally receive a lower-level or no response could become a high-priority call under current conditions.

  • Pay extra attention to calls involving:

    • Children

    • Pets

    • The elderly

    • Anyone exposed to heat for prolonged periods, including those in homes without air conditioning

  • Cooling Centers:

    • Cook County Cooling Centers: Click here

    • Cicero Cooling Centers: Community Center, Town Hall Lobby, Library, and Police Department

  • Dehumidifier Maintenance:

    • The dehumidifier near the front door will need to be emptied frequently.

    • If the red light on top is flashing, it means the unit is full.

    • Pull out the bottom front compartment and empty the water in the sink.
